I just love Chris Rice’s songs.  Belle and I were just listening to one of his cds on the way back from dropping Pete off at school.  I love his songs that are about Heaven…they make my soul sing.

When Gus was in the hospital, Chris Rice was part of a fund raiser event for the hospital.  We were thrilled to find this out since we were already big fans.  It thrilled us even more to be able to talk to him after his performance.  We shared with him about Gus and he told us he would be praying…and I believed him.  Later that evening, the hospital PR guy dropped by to check on Gus (he was much loved by the staff!) and he brought a “Made You Smile” flat for Gus that had been signed by Chris.  Apparently the PR guy had told Chris about Gus too!  We hung it on the wall there in the hospital and after Gus died, it hung out here on one of the shelves.  I’m not sure where it is now…I need to find it….
